YiP's summer: 40 facilitators in action

6 September 2022
This summer, YiP delivered more than 1,300 hours of Urban Arts & Sports workshops in four juvenile detention centres and two residential youth care facilities in the Netherlands.

With the guidance of graffiti artist Richart, the young people of RJJI Horsterveen have turned wooden panels into works of art for the walls of the institution. During the workshop they were given space to write out their own concepts and take turns painting it. Richart: “It symbolises the life within these walls. Everyone here can relate to the feeling of being in a fishbowl.”

On August 31, in a residential youth care facility in Deurne, the summer was concluded with musical workshops. Accompanied by Neda on the piano, the youngsters recorded a song about being more than the perception others might have of you. During Clyde's workshop the boys and girls brass battled it out.

A special S/O to all the facilitators and young people!
